In Cameroon, Orange inaugurates its headquarters and the largest data centre in Central Africa

On 31 May, Orange inaugurated its new headquarters in Douala, Cameroon, along with the largest data centre in Central Africa. The event was attended by the Prime Minister of Cameroon, Philémon Yang. LKS together with Archidia Arquitectura have been in charge of carrying out the project and site management, as a result of the first prize obtained in the contest of architectural design competition announced by Orange Cameroon.

The new complex is situated on a plot with a total area of 12,880 m² and houses an office building and a data centre, two buildings with different uses and isolated from each other.
The office building, designed with office landscape criteria, consists of five 1,200 m² floors and a basement for parking. The building is finished with a rooftop cafe. The office complex occupies a total area of 7,300 m². In the exterior a sports area and green spaces have been generated. Sustainability criteria have been applied, such as the use of water recovery from the treatment plant for the irrigation of more than 3,000 m² of green areas on the site.
The data centre building measures 1,040 m² and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for storage, protection, processing, distribution and data transmission. This infrastructure is Orange's most important technical office in Cameroon.
