Extension of Aralar Paper plant in Amezketa (Gipuzkoa)

LKS has developed the demolition and detail design and the project management of the conditioning and extension of Papel Ararlar plant in Amezketa for Construcciones Miguel Imaz, who was undertaking the turnkey commission. This new plant will host the new machine for biodegradable wipes production, a new product, respectful with the environment that aims to replace the current model that does not meet this function.

It includes the demolition and refurbishment of the old buildings that housed the old cogeneration, boilers, electrical workshop, etc., and the construction of a new building of 6,161.48 sqm, spread over ground floor and several mezzanines. The ground floor will host the production secondary elements and paper machine and in the upper floor the new machine will be installed, freeing up space for another line of identical design.

Papel Aralar is a company in quick expansion. With a rapid international consolidation in more than 30 countries, it has become the leader of the Spanish market and its positioned itself at the top at European level.

Furthermore, LKS has provided technical assistance to the company Papel Aralar S.A. for negotiating an urban agreement with the City Council of Amezketa, which has allowed the aforementioned project to fit into the town planning and to make an urban restructuring through a Specific Modification of the Subsidiary Rules.  This modification will make it possible to carry out future actions, such as building an automated warehouse for the finished product. Within this framework a valuation of the Municipal Schools of Amezketa, owned by the company, has been made.
