Cantabria and LKS cooperate in promoting dual VT

The Regional Government Minister for Education, Culture and Sport, Miguel Angel Serna and the Director of Technological Consulting of LKS, Jesus Dorronsoro, this Wednesday signed a cooperation agreement to carry out joint projects of Dual Vocational Training in Cantabria.

Serna outlined the progress in Cantabria related to Dual Vocational Training, considering that at the present time some 300 students are doing apprenticeships in over a hundred companies, with students in this programme coming from over 15 schools.

The general director of Vocational Training and Continuous Education, Enrique Haya, explained that students from the computer science division of the college "Miguel Herrero" in Torrelavega have been cooperating with LKS in Dual Vocational Training projects.

As representative of their head office in Astillero, the Director, Vicente Briz, attended the signing of the agreement and referred to the help which LKS is giving "industrial companies to improve their competitiveness through information and communication technology, in CRM projects, mobility and services, our three strategic lines at this moment in the technology division".

In Astillero, an important part of the employment is cooperative, a "distinguishing aspect of our model", commented the director, adding that "we provide a service to benchmark companies in Cantabria", among them Mutua Montanesa, Bridgestone, Bosch, Berge, Mare, Sodercan and Celsa.

The director of LKS in Cantabria underlined their cooperation with the University of Cantabria and mentioned a recent forum with 150 Vocational Training teachers and students at a conference of projects with agile methodology.
